Financial Support for Speakers

Note

The availability of financial support is tied to the event’s budget. We may need to limit the number of support or adjust the amount accordingly. And this is a reimbursement program which means that funds will not be provided upfront, but reimbursed after the event, based on the submitted invoice and receipts. In some cases, the financial support may not cover all costs and it is the responsibility of the speaker to cover any remaining expenses

We are excited to offer conditional financial support for speakers from either Sabah/Sarawak or overseas attending our event. This program is designed to help support and facilitate the participation of talented individuals from outside of Peninsular Malaysia. Please note that this financial support is on a need basis and contingent on our event's overall budget.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Overseas or Sabah/Sarawak Speakers Only: This financial support is available exclusively to speakers who reside outside of Peninsular Malaysia including Sabah, Sarawak and overseas and are traveling specifically for this event.
  • Need-Based: The financial support is provided based on need. Applicants must demonstrate why they need financial assistance to participate in the event
  • Event Budget: The total number of speakers who will be given the financial support and the amount available depends on the event's budget. We aim to provide support but may have limited resources based on event funding. Not all applicants will necessarily receive support

Financial Support Details

  • Maximum Amount: Each eligible speaker can receive a maximum of MYR 1000 (estimated around $250 and the final amount might be lesser due to currency conversion fees, banking fees, etc.) to help cover travel and/or accommodation expenses
  • Reimbursement Process: If you are approved for the support, you will need to submit an invoice for the eligible expenses after the event for reimbursement
  • Expenses Covered: The financial support can help with travel and/or accommodation, provided these expenses are deemed necessary and justified
  • Approval Process: Each application will be reviewed individually. Approval will be based on financial need, the event's budget and the number of applicants
